UCF Football Game

Chad got tickets for our family to go to a UCF (University of Central Florida) football game. When the boys found out we were going, they were beside themselves. Will went with Chad to a game last year and sat through the entire game, but this was Landon's first time and we really didn't know how he would do or how long he would last sitting in the stands. Landon is not a sitter. Before the game we tailgated with Chad's work which was great to wear out Landon a little. We hoped he would sit still for the game at least until half time. All the pre-game stuff did keep Landon entertained, but as soon as the game started he said he was ready to go home. We managed to make it until about half time and then we left. Will was a little disappointed to leave, but we told him that he could stay up and watch it on TV when we got home, so he was super excited about that.

Landon at his first college football game and Will at his second. The game was on a Sunday night, the day after Halloween and we did arrive a little early, which is why the stadium is a bit empty. It did fill up as the game started. This is UCF's mascot, Knightro the Knight and Pegusus the Horse. Will thought this was so cool to see a knight riding a white horse on the field right before the game started.

Trick or Treat!!!

Living in Florida and a neighborhood where the houses are right next to each other definitely has its advantages on Halloween. The weather was perfect for Trick or Treating....no rain and the temperature was in the high 70's. We only walked down two streets and the boys got a ton of candy. Most people would just sit in there driveways and hand out the candy so the kids didn't have to go to the door. Some houses were decorated, which the kids loved going to most of those. There were about two houses that were decorated pretty scary and the people handing out the candy were dressed scary too. They even had the haunted music playing. The boys were a bit terrified, but they still went up and got there candy and then walked off really fast.

The first house we stopped at was Will's best buddy (Herbert). Herbert's mom and dad were handing out candy, so Herbert and his brother came with us Trick or Treating. Will and Landon thought that was super fun that they got to Trick or Treat with us.

These two little boys were so excited to go Trick or Treating that they could hardly stand still long enough to get one picture before heading out the door.

Love this picture!!!!

That's a lot of candy!!!!

Landon was pretty wiped out when we got home. He did walk a long way and he wasn't about to to go bed without having a piece of his candy that he carried around for two hours.
Happy Halloween!!

Trip to Charleston

A couple weekends ago we went to Charleston, South Carolina for a long weekend with Dottie's family. Dottie's grandmother rented a house at Seabrook Island, which was so beautiful. The island was very quite, not much traffic and the beach was never crowded so the boys could run and run, which was great to wear out Landon. Will is really into sea life and he got to see a lot of it while we were there, which he thought was so cool. He got to see dolphins, crabs, sea turtles, and we even got shrimp right off the boat, which Will thought was so awesome! The captain of the ship had the long white beard and all. The shrimp were definitely fresh and yummy! We also saw some horses riding on the beach, which you don't see on the beaches we go to in Florida.

It rained the first day, but there was an indoor pool, so that was great for the boys. The second day was chilly and sunny off and on, but still nice to enjoy the beach. The boys had a blast running up and down the beach, playing in the sand and the ocean. Julie's family couldn't come and we missed them terribly, but we get to see them for Thanksgiving which is just right around the corner.

The boys got their Halloween costumes while we where there and they loved them so much that they wore them almost all weekend. They even practiced "trick or treating" and got some special treats "toys". Thanks Aunt Myra, Uncle Kip, Nana, Pop and Grandmother!!

Will and Landon with their Aunt Myra, Pop, Nana and Great Grandmother.

Will as Buzz Lightyear.

Landon as Woody.

The boys love hanging out with Aunt Myra and Uncle Kip. Landon seriously wanted to go home with them. On the way back to Orlando, Landon kept asking us "where is Aunt Myra and Uncle Kip?" and when someone would pass by us he would say "is that Aunt Myra and Uncle Kip?". Thanksgiving cannot come faster so the boys can see Aunt Myra and Uncle Kip again.

How many people does it take to put an Alligator onto a Hot Wheels Race Track? For this toy, it took Pop and Kip about 30 minutes to figure out how to put the alligator on and it still wasn't really right. We definitely needed granddaddy there to help with this. He was always good at putting the toys together and of course playing with them too. I'm sure he was up in heaven laughing at them hysterically. Chad was asleep while Pop and Kip were attempting to put it together, but of course when he woke up he put the alligator on the track in about 5 minutes.
The boys bravely getting into the cold water. Actually they said it was warmer in the water than out.
Will and Landon had a blast riding the waves. You can tell it was a little cold since Chad is in the water with a long sleeve t-shirt. At least it was cold to us since we are still in 90 degree temperatures in Florida. Will and Landon didn't seem to mind as they love the ocean! When Landon would get out of the water, he would run up the beach doing the disco dance (we're guessing to keep himself warm). Sorry we don't have any pictures of the dance, but for those of you that know Landon you can probably just imagine how cute and funny it was, but so him.

This is the best picture we could get of a dolphin jumping out of the water. You can just see the tip of its fin. We never knew when they were going to jump out of the water and they were too fast for the camera, but at least you can see how close to the shore they were. We must have seen at least 20 dolphins. Most of them were in pairs. You don't see dolphins on the Florida beaches. Sharks....maybe. In this picture it does kind of look like a shark, but it really was a cute dolphin.

Landon's First Soda Pop

The other day after school Landon's class went to the park to play. One of the mom's brought these really cute (Halloween decorated) canned Sunkist drinks for the kids as well as bottled water. Well, what do you think Landon and all the other kids wanted? Of course the drink with all the sugar. Mommy let Landon have one thinking he wouldn't like the carbination, but he thoroughly enjoyed it. What does this child not like if it has sugar in it. Landon loved it so much and drank every last bit.

This isn't a great picture, but at least you can see by Landon's mouth and shirt how much he enjoyed his orange soda.

Grampie Turns 90!!!!

Today Dottie's Grampie turns 90! That is just so amazing and we are so blessed to have in our lives. He definitely does not look 90 and if he has the Etherton gene's he will live to be 100 plus years old. At 90 he is still playing golf almost everyday at the Hendersonville Country Club, which must help to keep him looking young. Happy 90th Birthday Grampie!!!

This picture was taken at a 90th birthday party for him a couple weeks ago. To the left is Grampie's sister "Annabel" who lives in Chicago, in the middle is our sweet niece Sarah and then on the right is Grampie.

Chester

Chester is a frog that is in Landon's class at school. Every Friday Chester gets to go home with one of the students for the weekend. After the weekend is over (there is a journal that comes with Chester too) mommy or daddy get to write a few words about Chester (coming from the 3 year old, of course). Monday, when Chester and the journal go back to school, the teacher reads the journal to the entire class. Such a cute idea!!

Last weekend was Landon's turn to bring Chester home!

This is Chester.

SMILE!!

Landon wanted to take Chester to the park. On the way Landon and Chester stopped at the mailbox to drop off a card.

Will had fun pulling Landon and Chester in the wagon.

After playing hard at the park, Landon shared his water with Chester.
So sweet!!!

Will had to bring his Buzz Lightyear along too.

Soccer Game

We are really enjoying soccer this fall with boys. Below are just a few pictures we took at their last game.

This is the best shot we have gotten of Landon so far during a game. Those 3 year olders are just so fast out on the field and running everywhere, if you can only imagine. Landon is number 17 and yes, his uniform is purple, with purple socks and all. Landon doesn't really care about the color, which is why they probably gave it to the 3 year olders. Will was so scared that his uniform was going to be purple, but it turned out that his uniform is one of his favorite colors (green). Green is NOT the East Eagles as some of our family and friends might say, but the Champions.

Will going after the ball.
Will's favorite position (goalie) and he is really good at it.

Will's number 6 and he's getting ready to kick the ball....yaaaaa!!!

Father son talk during half time.

Get it Will!!!!!! Sports are so much fun!!

Water break. This use to be Will's favorite thing to do the past few years he has played soccer, but now he really likes to be out on the field.

Soccer Practice

Will and Landon both started soccer practice this week. They are both playing through the YMCA, which is right up the road from us. Originally we were just going to put Will in soccer, but when we found out that they start at age 3, we decided to sign Landon up too. Anything to help relieve some of his energy!! Both the boys have an hour practice during the week (of course they practice on different days) and then they both have games on Saturday's that will last through the fall.

We'll start with Landon since his practice was first.
Landon getting ready to go to his first soccer practice. This is an action shot as he was so excited to go that he wouldn't stand still for this picture.

And he's off.........After Landon met his couch for the season, they ran around to warm up. He has no problem running, which is one of the reasons we put him in soccer.

Stretching.

More stretching.
I think he's warmed up and ready to go.

The Landon grin!!

Landon did great at practice. He did everything his coach said and was one of the few 3 year olds that would practice out on the field without mommy or daddy. He is definitely not shy. At the end of practice the coach got all the kids in a circle and asked that each child tell his/her name. So Landon decided to go first and immediately ran right up to the coach and said "hi, I'm Landon Morgan"!! Mommy and daddy were cracking up as well as everyone else. We really don't know where he gets his little personality (non-shyness) from, but a day doesn't go by when he does not say or do something to make us laugh.
After patiently waiting 2 days after Landon's practice it was finally Will's turn to go to practice. Will absolutely loves soccer, well really he loves all sports!! Will started at age 3 playing soccer, so this is his 4th season.

After Will met his coach for the season they started warming up with stretches.

Stretching some more.
Will did great with the drills. He's definitely more aggressive this season. We didn't get too many pictures of Will because it rained for the first part of practice. Will had fun running around in the rain though. At the end of practice, Will's coach asked the team what name they wanted to be and Will said "Tarheels". The team must not have liked that because they decided to be the "Champions".

The Morgan house hold is definitely not a dull moment right now between work, church, school and soccer!!

A day at the beach!!

Chad and the boys had Monday off for Labor Day, so we decided to go to Cocoa Beach for the day. The weather was perfect and it really wasn't too crowded. The boys had a blast playing in the sand and especially playing in the water. Living 45 minutes to the beach is definitely one advantage to living in Florida. We don't have many pictures as the batteries in the camera died and of course we didn't have any spares.

Most of the day was spent with the boys in the water. The boys would lay on there body boards and mommy and daddy would get them on a wave and give them a big push to ride it into shore and Landon would say "woo hoo...." as loud as he could. Will would say "wee...." with a huge smile on his face. Daddy had to try it a few times too!!

Our little surfer boy!! Will had absolutely no fear of the ocean and pretty much stayed in the water almost the entire day. He loved to ride the waves and of course he calls it "surfing". He's going to want a real surf board before long.
